Melnor AquaSentry Wireless Sensor Video Description
A perfect lawn or bountiful garden requires lots of sunshine and just the right amount of water. Using an automatic
Water timer simplifies watering but what happens if the water isn’t needed either because it is raining or the soil is already moist enough. Aquasentry, Melnor patented automatic rain delay, reduces over watering by automatically
Delaying watering when it isn’t needed, conserving while saving on water bills. The wifi hose valve will only open when the AquaSentry gives a go ahead!
Melnor Aqua Sentry Instructions
After installing the batteries, the sensor should be placed within the area you are watering. To place the sensor into the ground first dig a small hole about the same size as the probe on the sensor. The hole must be deep enough so the entire probe is buried. Remove any rocks or debris from the hole and place the sensor into the hole.
Be sure that the face of the sensor is facing the timer. Pack the dirt firmly around the sensor, making sure that the entire front surface of the probe is in contact with the soil. Set the knob to two drops. Never use a hammer or pound in the probe, always dig a hole first.
3300 Wireless Moisture Sensor Setup
- maximum range 200 feet from timer,
- direct line of sight to the timer,
- wait for the aqua timer to go into sleep mode,
- attach the included adapter on to the timer,
- then slide the receiver on to the rail of the adapter,
- and connect the receiver cable to the timer.
Wake the timer by pressing any button within about 60 seconds. An antenna symbol will appear indicating
That the Aqua Sentry is working properly. Aqua sentry has three moisture settings to set the moisture level simply set the knob to one, two or three drops. More drops means the more moisture Aqua sentry will keep in your soil.
We recommend first setting your Aqua sentry knob to the two drops setting. After a week check the moisture level of the area and adjust your setting accordingly. One drop for less moisture. Three drops
For more. You can continue to adjust your aqua sentry as needed according to weather conditions and plant health.
Your Melnor Aqua timer will continue to water normally as scheduled. If there is no need to water aqua sentry will either skip or shorten a watering cycle. Keep in mind that the sensor is monitoring the moisture in the ground so a slight sprinkle will not stop the watering program. Aqua sentry continues to monitor the moisture in the soil even when you are watering.
If the desired moisture level is reached during a watering cycle aqua sentry will shut down the water to prevent over watering.
The AquaSentry works with select Aquatimer models. It works with Melnor 2 zone water timer model 3100, Melnor 4 zone water timer models – 3284, RainCloud – 16043-RSC and the wifi Aquatimer – 15043-RSC.
